Sometimes the best collaborations start with a simple conversation.
When Henry Swanzy, Leandesk’s designer, met Jamie Rothwell, Founder of Hotbox at the Workspace Design Show, it quickly became clear they had more in common than just being part of the workplace design world. Within minutes they were discussing the same ideas: how work has changed, how our environments need to adapt with it and how good design can make that transition feel effortless.

Both Leandesk and Hotbox were created in response to the same shift.
Work is no longer tied to one desk in one office. For many people, the working day moves between home, office, cafés, studios and shared workspaces — sometimes all within the same week.
Leandesk approaches this challenge through the workspace itself. Designed as a beautifully simple folding sit-stand desk, it allows you to create a proper workstation wherever you need it — and then pack it away again when the workday is done. Made primarily from bamboo and designed with sustainability in mind, it’s built to be both practical and elegant in equal measure.
Hotbox tackles the same challenge from another angle. Their thoughtfully designed storage solutions — caddies, organisers and bags — make it easy to carry your work tools with you. Whether you’re moving between rooms at home, hot desking in the office or travelling between home and office, everything stays organised and ready to go.
Put the two together and something interesting happens.
A Leandesk gives you a place to work.
A Hotbox product helps you bring your work with you.
Both companies also share a commitment to thoughtful, sustainable design. Leandesk’s bamboo construction reflects a belief in renewable materials and long-lasting products, while Hotbox has built its reputation for durable designs featuring recycled plastic waste and created with circularity in mind.
That shared mindset was one of the things Henry and Jamie immediately recognised during their conversation at the Workspace Design Show.
It wasn’t really about desks or bags. It was about creating tools that support a more human way of working, putting people and planet before profit.
