Eco Design: Path to Greater Circularity workshop

The Leandesk has been designed with sustainability built into its very design – lean on materials and made of 99% bamboo* – a sustainability wonder product. But knowing this isn’t enough and Leandesk is striving to be at the forefront of ESG legislation, to be transparent and upfront with our findings and to ensure we can back up our claims with data, accreditation and certification as necessary.

However, as anyone will tell you, it is a complex business, potentially very costly for a start up and so far the government has been very slow in adopting any national, enforceable standards – in short, we’re all feeling around in the dark.  With this in mind, we are grateful to organisations like the The Furniture Makers’ Company for hosting events to keep us informed and on track.

Eco Design - The Path to Greater Circularity

Yesterday they hosted the excellent Eco Design: Path to Greater Circularity workshop with brilliant speakers on matters including the EU’s ESPR legislation, by the British Furniture Confederation, WRAP on waste reduction initiatives in the industry, digital product passports, and carbon footprint measurements by the fabulous Design Conformity who we are pleased to be working with.

“A panel discussion, insightful Q&A session and a chance to network with likeminded members of the furniture industry was valuable and welcome. A very useful, informative and constructive day! ”
